About the Course

Are you heading to college this year? Do you feel unsure about speaking in front of others or giving presentations?

Many students arrive at college prepared academically, but not always prepared for the communication side of it.

While you may be shown how to put together a PowerPoint, you’re rarely shown how to actually stand up and deliver it with confidence.

This one-day interactive workshop is designed specifically for students aged 16–18 who are preparing for college. It focuses on building confidence, developing practical public speaking skills, and helping you feel more comfortable presenting in front of others.

• Techniques to manage nerves and build confidence
• How to use your voice clearly and effectively
• How to structure and deliver a presentation
• How to engage an audience and hold attention
• Practical breathing and vocal control techniques
• Tips for thinking on your feet in college settings

Workshop Structure

This is a highly practical day, with guided exercises, speaking practice, and personalised feedback in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Students will have the opportunity to practise speaking in front of others and build confidence step by step throughout the day.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a clear set of tools to help you approach presentations in college with confidence.
