Elocution Tips for Children with Down Syndrome Wednesday 1st March 2023 7pm

This tutorial will take you through some  techniques and exercises you can do at home with your child everyday which will help improve the clarity and the aesthetics of your child’s speech.  Using drama and vocal training techniques we will work on helping you teach your child how to open their mouth to allow the sound to come out clearly and also the correct placement of the tongue.  This tutorial is given by an experienced vocal coach who works with children with Down syndrome.  Please note this is NOT a speech and language therapy session.  

WHAT WE WILL COVER

• Exercises and games to help your child learn how to open their mouth when talking
• Exercises and games to encourage the correct placement of the tongue for the consonant sounds.
• General vocal training exercises which will help with the overall clarity of the speech
